Most of us think of chlorine as a “disinfectant.” The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) however categorizes it closer to its real purpose–as a pesticide designed to kill any living organisms in our water supply. A bug killer! Only this time the unsuspecting victims aren’t insects, they’re human beings.

You’ve probably heard people say, “Whoever thinks our water supply is unsafe is overreacting”– or words to that effect!
What about the safety of water used for general purposes such as a bath or shower? The fact is there are other ways to get exposed to toxic chemicals besides drinking contaminated water.
Myth #1 – Tap water is the enemy
OK, we know there are a lot of folks out there who drink tap water. And you’re still with us, right? Tap water is cost effective, doesn’t harm the planet and should be safe enough to drink. In fact, if properly applied, current protocols in municipal water treatment should keep our drinking water safe—most of the time.

Many farmers and other well owners believe that adding a whole house water system to their well water source would be pointless and a waste of money. Most would insist they have the best water in the region. Yet, a day doesn’t go by when they aren’t in some way actively testing, monitoring and disinfecting their well water with an array of chemicals to make sure it stays safe. Even so, well owners and their water sources remain at serious risk of contamination.
